Camera and Photo Access: We access your camera and photo library only when you explicitly grant permission to scan or select food images.

Food Analysis: We use AI technology (OpenAI's GPT-4) to analyze your food photos and provide nutritional information. Your images are processed securely and are not stored permanently on external servers.

Personalization: We use your meal data to track your nutritional goals, calculate daily intake, and provide personalized recommendations.

Account Management: Your email address is used for account creation, authentication, and essential service communications.

Service Improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us improve our app's features and accuracy.

Local Storage: Most of your data, including food photos, is stored locally on your device for fast access and privacy protection.

Cloud Storage: Your account information and meal logs are securely stored using Supabase, which employs industry-standard encryption and security measures.

Data Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.

Access Controls: We implement strict access controls and regularly audit our systems to prevent unauthorized access to your data.

OpenAI: We use OpenAI's API to analyze food images. Images are sent to OpenAI for processing but are not stored by OpenAI after analysis is complete.

OpenFoodFacts: For barcode scanning, we query the OpenFoodFacts database, which is an open-source food database. No personal information is shared.

Apple Sign-In: If you choose Apple Sign-In, we receive only the information you authorize Apple to share.

Analytics: We may use privacy-focused analytics tools to understand app usage patterns without collecting personally identifiable information.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We do not share your food photos or meal data with other users unless you explicitly choose to do so.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to ensure user safety.

In the event of a business transfer, user data would be transferred under the same privacy protections.

Access: You can view and export all your personal data through the app settings.

Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings.

Correction: You can update your profile information and meal data directly in the app.

Data Portability: You can export your meal data in a standard format.

Withdrawal of Consent: You can revoke camera and photo library permissions at any time through your device settings.

Account Data: We retain your account information as long as your account is active.

Meal Data: Your meal logs and photos are kept to provide continuous service and track your nutrition history.

Deleted Data: When you delete your account, we remove all personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.

Cache Data: Temporary analysis results may be cached for up to 7 days to improve performance.

MealMetrics is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

Parents who believe their child has provided information to us should contact us immediately.

Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence.

We ensure that international data transfers comply with applicable privacy laws.

Our service providers are contractually bound to protect your data with the same standards we apply.
